Last of the lazy days.

It seems the writing, shouting, early morning breakfasts and late night sessions have started to pay off.

Ok so still no financial backing for the first short film, but we have ways and means around that. If it means having to make it on a shoe string first then fine. We have cameras, actors, special effects, make up and somewhere to shoot. What we dont have is a cinematographer, sound engineer or any money. Time for another kunning Kidfos plan maybe....

The offer of putting one of my plays on stage is signed and sealed. I don't care if its only a local production and using budding actors. The chance of seeing my own material performed on stage so soon is fantastic. Not only that but with a little guidance from the production manager and stage director, I have managed to turn one short story into both a stage play and a possible short film. " Dog Day Delivery" may have its 15 minutes of fame. Now while  I really despise the whole PR merry-go-round, even I cannot fail to recognize  the importance of news coverage. So when the local news crews and reporters from the paper turn up ( And they will, its not like much else happens here) my sidekick has informed me that I WILL be on my best behavior, not say anything remotely smart ass and thank the theatre for putting on our ( Our?! I wrote the fucking thing!) play.

The race  to find a new sound engineer before the end of the month or risk missing out on documenting another un-signed band as part of my ongoing piece of gonzo is not looking good.
Which is a shame as the ska band we should be shooting/following/getting wasted with are one I have been looking forward to working with since this enterprise was conceived.
Maybe we could offer more than free beers at the bar we shoot at and last dibs on any of the bands groupies then applicants may be a little more forthcoming.
